SKAO will soon begin with the planning of the Alarm handling system. Our baseline design selected Elettra's alarm handler as our initial solution for the handling and propagation od alarms. Quite some time has passed by and it appears to be a good idea to see what the Tango Controls community is currently using. The intention is to then take some inspiration, perhaps even an existing solution and use it for AA0.5 and beyond.
The first Learning from others series was quite successful, so I have invited the community again to see how they are doing it. Initially I invited three colleagues from the Tango Controls community to show us how alarm handling, alarm propagation and all the other interesting things that one can do with alarms are done at their facilities. But I expect, if the previous series is any indicator, that this will easily grow to five or six demos again.
